Suvarnabhumi closes taxiway E21 for repairs until about 8am on 6 November

Airports of Thailand closed the taxiway after an Emirates A380 could not move on it on 2 November. The airport says other runways and taxiways can handle traffic and it expects no further disruption.

What to do: Check your flight status with the airline before leaving for the airport.

The 40-baht daily cap on the Purple and Red lines ends after 30 November

Since 1 December 2025, tapping the same Mangmoom, MRT EMV or contactless bank card all day on the MRT Purple line and both SRT Red lines has capped fares at 40 baht. It ends on 30 November 2026. A deputy spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office said on 25 October that the Ministry of Transport will ask Cabinet to extend it to 31 December 2027; Cabinet has not approved it.

What to do: Don't count on the cap with a card issued abroad: the operators don't say whether foreign cards qualify, and one Thai report says it is for Thai nationals only. From 1 December, budget for full fares of up to 42 baht a trip unless an extension is approved.
