About The Bangkok Guide
The Bangkok Guide is run by Cal, a Canadian who has lived in Asia since 2015, mostly in Bangkok. It started as a YouTube channel of practical guides and condo tours. This site turns those videos into pages you can scan, and keeps them current.
How pages are kept current
- Every guide starts from one of the channel's videos, filmed on the ground in Thailand.
- Rules, fees and prices are checked against an official or primary source before they're published, and that source is linked.
- "Last verified" means someone actually re-checked the page on that date. It is never updated automatically.
- When something changes, the guide is updated and the change is logged at the bottom of the page.
- Where a rule is unclear or enforced differently from officer to officer, we say so rather than guess.
How sponsors work
Some pages carry one sponsor box, always labelled. Sponsors are chosen because they fit the page, for example an eSIM on the arrival guide. If you buy through a sponsor link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Sponsors never see or change what we write. Echo Thai and the Move Planner are our own products and are labelled that way.
